It’s a full two weeks now since the end of my short-but-sweet tenancy in Sheffield’s Winter Garden pop-up shop unit, and I’m just about getting myself back on an even keel.
Teaming up with Dandelion Cocoa, Fizzy Pigg and Craft Tea Company was just perfect from start to finish. Not only did our products complement each other and fit very neatly within the Valentine’s theme, we were all on the same page about everything from the very start. A good job really, seeing as we all agreed to collaborate with Dandelion Cocoa a mere fortnight before we were due to open, so there was lots to do!
Within an hour of opening, we had a photographer snapping away and making us do some awkward posing. The upside of this was a double page spread and front cover shot in The Sheffield Telegraph, followed by a feature in The Sheffield Star a few days later.
We met some fantastic people during our stay in the pop-up (not least Watson the puppy and his owner!) and had amazing feedback from everyone who came to visit. There were lots of lovely comments on how good the shop looked, and also the range and quality of products for sale. Fizzy Pigg’s cheeky Valentine’s cards got lots of laughs and were so successful, she had to get an emergency batch printed up after the first ones sold out!
Although I’m pretty sure that a career in retail is not for me, I loved every moment in the shop, chatting to people about my work and helping them to find the perfect piece of jewellery for their loved one.
The four of us have agreed that we will definitely collaborate again so keep your eyes peeled for us in the pop-up again sometime next year. In the meantime, you can find us together again (minus the lovely Dandelion Cocoa) at Sheffield Maker’s Fair on Saturday, 4th March.
